Abstract Aim This study aims to review the available surgical Massive Open Online Course (MOOCs), assess their scope, users, function and use a quality assurance score whether they are of sufficient quality. Understanding gaps will aid development future MOOCs. Introduction MOOCs have been changing fabric medical education over last ten years1. They perceived be disruptive in dismantling traditional methods content delivery. Their offer remote but flexible access visually appealing has an integral part success. Method We scrutinised publicly accessible websites offering using search terms “surgery” “surgical”. Thirty-eight 234 found were deemed relevant analysed further.
